Rotary-Mattamy Greenway
Client | Parks Foundation Calgary
Status | Ongoing
Project Type | Greenbelt Pathway Network
The Rotary-Mattamy Greenway began with a vision of an inclusive and accessible amenity - a city wide greenbelt highlighting a connected pedestrian network. As a master plan, this vision established the 138km continuous pathway around the City of Calgary, featuring numerous active and passive amenities. The Rotary-Mattamy Greenway connects 55 communities and over 400,000 Calgarians.
As the primary outer greenbelt in urbanizing areas, the Greenway facilitates connectivity, supports an active lifestyle, and provides valuable social infrastructure for current and future generations.
As feature amenities, the Rotary-Mattamy Greenway also includes regional, community, and neighbourhood parks as destination components. Many are located within the Transportation Utility Corridor, include off-leash parks, environmental interpretive areas, disc golf, community gathering, and passive activity parks.
