Ramsay-Inglewood TOD Streetscape & Public Realm Redevelopment

Client | City of Calgary

Status | Public Realm Plan Completed: 2022, Detailed Design: Ongoing

Project Type | Master Plan

The Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Streetscape and urban realm improvements created an opportunity to use the Green Line LRT Stations Transit Hub as a catalyst for streetscape improvements, the integration of active modes of transportation and improved mobility through the corridor.

Public realm design is not independent of the surrounding context. In contrast, we think it is enhanced by adjacent investment, technical challenges, opportunities, and redevelopment in the community. These historic neighbourhoods come with a unique road network and pattern of development that were etched by turn of the century infrastructure and old connections that are still evident today. Land uses, patterns, and development intensity have changed and are continuing to evolve. Understanding the past and projecting what will come in the future is key to ensuring the viability of streetscape and public realm upgrades in this neighbourhood.
